About Sandy Tails

Pet Grooming Built Around Your Pet's Comfort

We believe a well-groomed pet should also be a relaxed one. Here is how we work, and what you can expect from us.

Our approach

Every pet arrives with a different story

A confident young Labrador and an elderly Persian need very different things from a grooming appointment. So we do not run every pet through the same routine. Sandy Tails starts with the animal in front of us: their coat, their age, their health and how they feel about being handled.

We also think pet parents deserve straight answers. We will tell you what your pet's coat needs, what it can do without and what you can easily manage at home. If something looks like it needs a vet's attention, we will say so rather than trying to groom around it.

The goal is simple: a clean, comfortable pet, and a dog or cat who is a little more relaxed about coming back next time.

What we stand for

Four promises for every appointment

Comfort comes first

We watch your pet's body language and take breaks when needed. A finished haircut is never worth a frightened animal.

Honest advice

You will hear what your pet needs and what it will cost before work begins, with no pressure to add extras.

Clean by habit

Tools and tables are cleaned between pets, because good hygiene protects every animal who visits us.

Know the limits

Groomers are not vets. If we notice ticks, sores, lumps or sore ears, we will show you and suggest a vet visit.

Nervous pets

Worried about how your pet will cope?

Plenty of pets find grooming hard, especially after a bad experience. Dryers can be loud, tables can feel unsteady and paws can be sensitive. Tell us what your pet finds difficult when you book, and we will plan around it.

  • More time for introductions before any grooming starts
  • Shorter stages, with breaks to settle
  • A smaller first visit, such as nails or a brush, if that suits better
  • We stop and talk to you if your pet is becoming distressed
